Pacemaker function testing, programming and consultation with an arrhythmologist

What is pacemaker (ECS) function testing, programming and consultation with an arrhythmologist?

This is a non-invasive test and programming of pacemaker function performed by an arrhythmologist. During the test, the doctor summarises the findings and discusses further necessary actions with the patient. Pacemaker testing is necessary to ensure the patient’s safety at all times and to be able to anticipate and plan pacemaker battery replacement and other procedures, if necessary.

Currently, the clinic performs tests on pacemakers from the following manufacturers: Medtronic, Biotronik, Ilsanta, Abbott (formerly St. Jude)

How is the test performed?

Depending on the pacemaker, the doctor performing the test selects one of the devices specifically designed for testing and programming that particular pacemaker.

Currently, the clinic performs tests on pacemakers from the following manufacturers: Medtronic, Biotronik, Ilsanta. Abbott or St. Jude – currently not available.

During the pacemaker test, the necessary procedures specified by the pacemaker manufacturer are performed, including checking how long the battery will last, making various adjustments if necessary, etc.
