When should I have a Holter monitor?
A Holter ECG should be performed if you have:
- unpredicted loss of consciousness, dizziness;
- heart rhythm disturbances;
- periodic rapid pulse;
- recurrent or persistent chest (heart) pain;
- unspecified weakness and shortness of breath;
- high blood pressure or marked diurnal fluctuations in blood pressure;
- morning weakness or increased daytime tiredness;
- arterial hypertension during pregnancy,
and if:
- need medication monitoring during blood pressure treatment;
- Targeted screening is needed for people working in high-risk occupations (aviation workers, firefighters, drivers, etc.);
