Bioimpedance

What is bioimpedance?

Bioimpedance, or body composition analysis, is an examination method that is scientifically recognised worldwide.

During the examination, an alternating current is passed through the body, which is weak and imperceptible to humans. The measurement principle is based on simple laws of physics: it uses the different conductivity of bones, organs and body fat.

To provide a sound analysis of body composition, it is not enough to look at body length and weight. In addition to these two parameters, bioelectrical impedance analysis determines the proportion of fat and fat-free mass in the body, analyses cell quality and skeletal muscle mass, and compares fat and muscle mass.

The method is quick and painless, and is designed as both an initial diagnostic and a control tool.
