The people of Latvia deserve to live from the heart! Professor Skride Heart Clinic opens

On 15th May, the Professor Skride Heart Clinic will open with its experienced and highly qualified team of doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals. The new private clinic will offer a wide range of services to help with a variety of cardiovascular health issues, as well as a personalised approach to each client depending on their needs.

“I am delighted that we have been able to bring together the best specialists from different disciplines in one clinic to provide world-class cardiovascular care. The people of Latvia deserve to live from their hearts,” says the founder and head of the clinic, Asoc. prof. Dr. med. Andris Skride.

Life expectancy in the Baltics is low. It is the lowest in Latvia, and the main reason for this is heart health. According to the data(1), cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in Latvia. Latvia also has the second highest preventable mortality rate in the EU, behind Lithuania.

“Let’s do everything we can to ensure that the average life expectancy of the Latvian population is 7 healthy years longer than it is today,” says Skride.

The new private clinic will offer consultations from a wide range of specialists – cardiologists, heart surgeons, rheumatologists, pulmonologists, endocrinologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists and others. Echocardiography, cycle ergometry and ultrasonography with more modern medical devices are also available, as well as blood tests, 24-hour holter and blood pressure monitoring if needed.

In the light of the statistics, prevention activities will be a key focus. For your convenience and peace of mind, we have created special health packages that include various tests, examinations and specialist consultations. The kits are designed to give you comprehensive information about your health. They are tailored to gender and age. Specialised kits are available for active lifestyles and for those who focus more on cardiovascular health.

The clinic is located in the centre of Riga, in “Alojas Biroji” (Krišjāņa Valdemāra iela 62), with easy access to both public and private transport. For the convenience of clients, the clinic offers free parking and a children’s playroom. The Skride Heart Clinic provides an accessible environment for all our patients and guests.

Jānis Meiers, CEO of Eastnine Latvia, the lessor of the premises, is also happy about the opening of the clinic. “With no new international tenants entering the market at the moment, it is doubly pleasing to see new local companies with big ambitions being created. Although Alojas Biroji was built almost 15 years ago, it is still one of the most energy-efficient office buildings in Riga, as evidenced by its “A+” class energy certificate, which even the new office buildings in the Skanste area do not have,” emphasises Jānis Meiers.
